Impulse 2014: First Show!

Preview Show

It’s still a show! šŸ™‚ Although, if it was called Preview Fish, it would be a fish and not a show

First show! I remember my first show šŸ™‚ I remember my first every things! šŸ˜€

I can visualize most of what will happen tomorrow šŸ™‚ I can even feel a lot of what it will feel like throughout the day. Experience has it’s advantages and disadvantages.

The rookies that will experience first time everything this season will grow the most as people tomorrow šŸ˜€ When they wake up Sunday morning they will have a slightly different sense of self. That’s what experiences do to you šŸ™‚ You think of yourself in different ways. You think to yourself in different ways. You are just different after a life experience

I think it’s arguable that there is no such thing as a bad experience. If you learn something from what ever experience, it’s all good. There’s too much in life to enjoy to give things negative labels. Being negative is bad! Hahahahaha (Ray being ironic)

First Show!

First rehearsal at Glendora High School. The field is east of Valley Center, west of Lone Hill on Foothill Blvd. There are tennis courts along the street and a small parking lot. The field is below that. Front sideline faces the school.

Stretch 30 minutes, sectionals, some ensemble time, load truck. 3 hours from end of rehearsal until call time at Wilson HS

Rachel needs to get her hair done first. Lots of figure it out will be going on. Vets, be good vets. I’ll be around, but I’ll leave as soon as possible to get a zone inside the school for the horns. Battery takes care of themselves for warmups, as does pit and guard. After A little vizh, horns will warmup with Jeff. Then ensemble at truck

Pit will push, roll off to the show gate. Guard will be there too or on the way. Horns and battery get on jackets/section hype

Walk to the stadium. Now is when a great deal of nervous, anxious energy will be peaking. Control it, channel it, focus. It’s just another run through šŸ˜€

I’m serious. I know I’ve talked about imagining an audience and always performing to that audience, well obviously no need to imagine now!

Calm yourself and focus. You’ve prepared well. You’re well rehearsed. One more run for the day. Load the truck, go rest. Just like camp, just like each rehearsal since. One more good run through, oh what the heck! Make it a Great Run Through, since you’ve got the uniform on and stuff šŸ˜€

Breath. Move with awareness. Relax. Own your space. Breath. Enjoy. Feel the feelz. Connect with each other’s performance. Breath

This will be the beginning of a great ride. A time in your life you will remember forever
